Hello Reader,
Remember on Tuesday when I asked:
How far can one moment travel?
My friend Randy offered one answer.
More than 40 years.
He remembers saying to a friend:
“I bet you think I’m pretty stupid, huh?”
Her response was nine words:
“Oh no I don’t, I think you’re pretty neat.”
Randy has never forgotten them.
But here’s the part that continues to linger in my mind:
She doesn’t remember saying them.
Randy has told her how much those words meant to him and that he still remembers them all these years later.
But the moment that has traveled with Randy for more than four decades apparently seemed ordinary enough to her that it disappeared from her memory.
Nine words.
One person forgot them.
Another never did.
Which has me wondering:
How many moments have you created for someone else that you don’t remember at all, but they’ve never forgotten?
With gratitude for the moments we share and the ones we create,
Kevin
