What if some of the moments that matter most don’t seem important while they’re happening?
Think about your own life for a moment.
Some moments announce their arrival.
A birth. A death. A diagnosis. A wedding. A new job. A goodbye.
You know while you’re living them: This matters.
But lately I’ve been increasingly curious about another kind of moment.
The ordinary ones.
- A conversation you almost didn’t have.
- Someone remembering your name.
- A question asked at just the right time.
- A stranger showing unexpected kindness.
- A seemingly insignificant decision that changes what happens next.
- Someone seeing something in you that you couldn’t yet see in yourself.
- Sometimes we recognize their significance immediately.
Sometimes it takes years to realize the impact of a moment.
And sometimes, I wonder if we never recognize it at all.
Which leaves me wondering:
How many moments that matter might be hiding inside your ordinary day or week?
I invite you to join me in finding out.
This week, notice what happens.
Don’t go searching for something profound.
Just pay attention.
Notice the conversations. The choices. The interruptions. The people. The unexpected.
And if something makes you think, There was something special about that moment…
Stay with it.
Maybe act on what you noticed.
And then I’d love to hear what happened.
